This Privacy Policy explains how PupRacers (the game and the website pupracers.com), operated by Jean-Yves Quentel (an independent solo developer, France), collects, uses and protects your personal data. PupRacers is a family-friendly racing game. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the beta program and the game's online features.

2. What data we collect
a) Beta sign-up (website /beta) — when you register to become a beta tester:

b) In-game online services — when you play the game and use its online features, the following third-party services may process identifiers tied to your platform account:
- Epic Online Services (EOS) — for multiplayer matchmaking and leaderboards (online account identifier, gameplay/leaderboard data).
- Google Play Games Services — for achievements, leaderboards and cloud save (your Play Games identifier and saved game progress).
c) Server logs — our web host keeps standard technical logs (IP address, request, timestamp) to operate and secure the website.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Why we use your data (legal basis)
- Consent — beta sign-up uses a double opt-in: we only email you because you asked us to. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 7).
- Legitimate interest — security, anti-spam, and keeping the website and game running.
- Performance of a service — providing the online game features you choose to use (multiplayer, leaderboards, cloud save).
4. Third parties & data sharing
We share data only with the service providers needed to run PupRacers:
- Epic Games (Epic Online Services) — see Epic's Privacy Policy.
- Google (Play Games Services) — see Google's Privacy Policy.
- IONOS — email delivery for the beta confirmation and updates.
- Our web hosting provider — to host the website and database.
5. Data retention
- Beta sign-up data is kept for as long as the beta program runs, or until you ask us to delete it.
- If you do not confirm your email (double opt-in), your unconfirmed entry may be removed.
- Server logs are kept for a limited period per our host's standard retention.
6. Cookies
The website uses only essential, functional cookies/session data required for the pages to work (no third-party advertising or tracking cookies on our beta pages).
7. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA (and similar rights apply elsewhere), you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate data;
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
- Withdraw your consent / unsubscribe at any time;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Request a copy of your data (portability).
To exercise any of these rights, email support@pupracers.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
8. Children's privacy
PupRacers is a family-friendly game with no violence. The beta sign-up is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact support@pupracers.com and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the game evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
